If you have an elderly or injured dog, you aren’t going to want to keep them cooped up in the house, you’re going to want to include them in as many activities as you can.
If your pup used to love going for a walk, but their bodies can’t handle the exercise anymore, you can still take them out for a stroll with a large dog stroller, specifically the Pet Gear Expedition Pet Stroller.
In this review, we are going to talk a little more about the features of the Pet Gear Expedition Pet Stroller, but we are also going to give you an overview of what people who have purchased the pet stroller had to say about their overall experience with it.
Then, we’re going to give you our recommendation on whether or not this pet stroller is something you should consider purchasing for your own pet!
About The Pet Gear Expedition Stroller
Pet Gear Inc. has been in business creating innovative products for your pets since 1936. The latest product they’ve introduced is the Pet Gear Expedition Pet Stroller. This pet stroller proves that strollers aren’t just for children!
These handy little totes can enrich the life of your dog if they suffer from joint pain, arthritis, or even if they’ve recently undergone some sort of surgery.
Notable features of the Pet Gear Expedition Pet Stroller include:
- Large protective pet compartment
- Sturdy frame
- Rides low to the ground for easy entry
- Waterproof floor
- Adjustable height handle
- Adjustable stroller height to handle 40 ¼” to 42”
- Internal pad
- One pocket with snap and one small net pocket
- Easy fold mechanism
- Front swivel plastic wheels (front wheel 8 ¼”, back wheel 11 ½”)
- Rear brakes
- Bug proof mesh that provides air circulation
- Ideal for pets up to 150-pounds
In an effort to keep your pup comfortable, this stroller features plenty of bug-proof mesh to keep those pesky bugs from getting at them, but it also provides your pet with plenty of fresh air.
Also, there is an internal pad in the stroller that will give your pet something nice and comfortable while being pushed in the stroller.
If you enjoy jogging and your pet used to go with you, they still can with this stroller, as it features Air Ride technology. This tech allows you to go through rough terrain without any hassle.
The air ride tires make the ride comfortable for your pet without being jostled around, as the tires aid in stabilizing the stroller. If you need to stop for a minute, you can simply lock the front tire and be certain that the stroller (and your pup) isn’t going to go anywhere.
What Others Say
When we looked at the user reviews on Amazon, we saw that many had great things to say about the pet stroller and left 4 or 5-star reviews. Of these reviews, people commented on how easy it was to put the stroller together – you can have it fully assembled in less than 10 minutes.
Other customers have said that there is plenty of room in the stroller for a 60-pound dog and there be enough room for them to lay down comfortably. Customers have also enjoyed the fact that they can take this stroller anywhere and not worry about getting hung up on things like gravel, tree roots, sand, and the like, thanks to the air ride tires.
Customers were very pleased by how low to the ground the stroller rides. This means that it is easier for pets to get in and out of the stroller without the owner’s help.

So what did the remaining percentage of customers who left 3-star or below reviews have to say? The most common complaint customers had was that it was too large to fit through doorways, but nowhere capable of handling a dog that weighs 150 pounds.
One customer shared that they weren’t able to tote their puppy around in it because they tore up the Velcro padding at the bottom of the stroller. Customers also pointed out that there isn’t enough storage, be it for the dog’s things or the owners, so they had to bring a bag for treats, water, and food for the pup.
Customers have also said that the entryway to get the pooch inside the stroller is on the small side, and they found it challenging to put their large dog inside. Another customer mentioned that there is no cup holder or anything like that, so they couldn’t bring along some water for themselves on their walk unless they stored it in the pet bag.
If you used to take your dog with you when you went on your morning run, but you no longer can because they have mobility problems, you no longer have to feel guilty leaving them home. With a large pet stroller, such as the Pet Gear Expedition Pet Stroller, you can take your furry best friend with you on those jogs.
Maybe you just want to take them to the lake so they can get some fresh air, the Air Ride tires are large and sturdy enough to be able to handle any terrain you want to go on. While the tires can maneuver through rough terrain, we don’t recommend going through soft, sugar sand because you’re liable to get stuck!
Simply because your furry best friend has mobility problems, that doesn’t mean they have to be confined to the house. With this stroller, you can continue to include them in your outdoor activity and they can continue to enjoy the fresh air. It’s a win-win for all!
